TOLES - LEGAL ENGLISH



WHAT IS TOLES?

TOLES (Test of Legal English Skills) is a variety of legal training courses and examinations organised by prestigious British legal institutions that are members of the Law Society of England and Wales. It mainly involves practical legal training based on common law legal documents in different subjects, taking account of legal english at the same time.

 

OBJECTIVES AND SKILLS

TOLES is aimed at professionals and students dedicated to the legal world, as well as to other professionals or students in business, social sciences and languages.

 

Acquire verbal and written communication skills related to legal practice, such as writing opinions and letters of advice, making claims and negotiating settlements. 

 

Knowledge of the law used in jurisdictions such as the UK, USA, Canada and Australia. Develop a comparative perspective with the European systems of law.  

  

Develop communication skills both in Common Law and Legal English. 

 

Organise, design and practice activities, such as debates, negotiation and advocacy in order to improve the  student's ability to question and argue. 

HOW IS IT STRUCTURED?

There are three levels of TOLES examinations:

 

1 –FOUNDATION, beginner level

 

2-  HIGHER, intermediate level

 

3-  ADVANCED, advanced level

You can do the TOLES courses at our centre in Paris, at flexible timetables adapted to your needs.

 

We also offer the possibility of on-site training courses at your workplace.
